This weight loss programme utilises hypnotherapy, mindfulness and psychotherapeutic strategies and is centred on the whole person, that is weight loss, exercise, lifestyle stress management and relaxation.

A by product of this program is increased confidence and self esteem.
When it comes to losing weight it's not just about calories in and calories out, the difference that makes the difference to weight loss is our relationship to food and exercise and this is mediated by mean gal approach.

“Often there is more to losing weight than just going on a diet, there is often greater psychological issues underlying the problem”. Andy Austin.

It's important to be clear from the outset when we refer to weight loss we are actually talking about FAT loss rather than weight loss.

Fitness and nutrition are like the King and Queen when it comes to weight loss, Psychological blocks can prevent us from taking action and achieving the weight you want to be.

The triad of change in successful weight loss and weight loss maintenance are mindset, fitness and nutrition, which, when all are working together synergistically, produce a result greater than each part alone can achieve . Most hypnotherapy weight loss programs don't take into account nutrition or fitness, you can't out train a bad diet,

emotions and beliefs to promote healthy eating and healthy living patterns. Mind and body in constant communication each influencing each other. Every thought in your mind has a reaction in your body and every sensation in your body has an effect on your mind.

Hypnotherapy can be used in helping you regain control over your emotional and psychological relationship to food. Where food was used to feed psychological hungers such as stress, boredom or negative emotional issues you'll learn new ways of meeting those needs.

If you've been snacking on junk foods as a way of treating yourself, or using food as a coping mechanism to alleviate boredom or stress for a short term fix of energy, it may now have become become a habit, one that in the long term can promote weight gain, guilt and low self esteem. It's important to be clear that weight loss Hypnosis is not a quick fix, it's a tool you can implement to help you to eat healthier foods and exercise. This program emphasises a diet high in quality nutrients and a lifestyle that supports weight loss.

Dieting has been shown to be less effective for weight loss than changing mindset behaviours to achieve health. Losing weight and maintaining that weight loss involves changing habits and behaviours.

A primary problem with most weight loss programs is not the lack of initial results, but rather the fact that approximately one-third of those who lose weight gain it back within the year and almost everyone gains the weight back within 5 years (Fawzy et al., 1983).

This program will help you to make lifestyle adjustments throughout your life rather than just for the purposes of weight loss.

The after the diet programme also identifies any underlying psychological issues that may be contributing to difficulties with weight management, issues such as:

Comfort / emotional eating

Sugar addiction

Binge eating

Food addictions

Fussy eating habits

Chocolate addiction

Psychological low self esteem,

Feelings of inadequacy

Mood disorders

Emotional imprints

Family values and dysfunctional family relationships

Issues of conditioned worth such as low expectations of success

Teasing at a young age

As well as being a qualified hypnotherapist and mindfulness based cognitive therapist I'm also a qualified nutritionist and healthy weight coach. I've worked in the health and fitness industry's for the last 17 years as a sports therapist, personal trainer, martial arts teacher and soft tissue therapist.

As well as utilising the benefits of hypnosis, self-hypnosis and mindfulness the After The Diet program is underpinned by a multi-modal (cognitive, behavioural and mindfulness) approach to change, to increase the overall effectiveness of the program using techniques such as:

Covert modelling (use of the imagination, visualising the required behaviours and responses), self regulation (self monitoring-journal, food log), exploration of any approach avoidance conflicts as well as aversion techniques along with others.

Promoting not only self discovery but also the strategic skills necessary to lose weight such as learning new responses to old emotional and psychological triggers and making previously unconscious patterns and behaviours conscious, enabling you to regain control over compulsions and cravings, which, ultimately contribute to low moods and self deprecation. The good news is that anything that has been learned can be unlearned by creating a different response.

As you've probably guessed this programs focus is on harnessing the power of your mind to create and maintain a lifestyle that facilitates fat loss. By working on your mindset you can support a completely different set of psychologically driven eating behaviours, ones that empower you and help you to lose weight as well as finding new ways of dealing with emotional needs without the need for food.

Bolocofsky et al. (1985) examined the differential benefit of a behavioural weight loss program with a hypnotic induction compared with just the behavioural treatment among 109 individuals aged 17–67. Individuals who participated in both conditions lost a significant amount of weight compared with baseline. However, adding hypnosis to the behavioural regime appeared to contribute to continued weight loss. Those who received both the behavioural and hypnosis components were found to have lost significantly more weight at the 8-month and 2-year follow- up visits compared with those who had participated in the behavioural treatment condition.

What do you hunger for?

What are you not receiving or achieving?

What is the feeling that goes with this hunger?

What foods do you associate with that feeling?

When some people are unsatisfied they eat sugary foods to stimulate themselves

What are you willing to do to turn around bad habits and self limiting behaviours?

Eating to excess or hungering for certain foods will almost certainly contain psychologically driven needs and can easily be confused neurologically Eating carbs and sugar can be a stress reliever.. Eating behaviour can be triggered by emotional experiences

Create the energetic healthy body you want. Emphasis us on healthy thoughts, emotions and beliefs to promote healthy eating and healthy living patterns. Mind and body in constant communication each influencing each other. Every thought in your mind has a reaction in your body and every sensation in your body has an effect on your mind.

it's one thing to lose the weight it's another to maintain the weight loss.
New ways of dealing with emotional needs without the need for food ??pp
Addressing the why behind why you eat certain foods is a good place to start,

Eating food quickly and half consciously and become an automated pattern of behaving.

Hypnotherapy can Strengthen your motivation.

You may have already explored a number of different methods for losing weight such as low carbs high proteins, fasting, soup diets, exercising, weight loss supplements, as positive as some of these behaviours or outer game attempts to lose weight are, if they don't involve the inner game…..the inner game allows people to organise themselves in such a way that the outer game can occur easily and naturally.

Understand food combinations that don't promote fat storage..

Why do you really want to lose weight? E.g I don't want to be fat anymore,…..deeper= because I feel tired and self conscious

The food you eat can change the way you feel the way you feel can change the way you think

Thoughts influence body, body influences thoughts. When you feel a sensation in your body such as hunger or thirst that causes you to feel an emotion or think a thought. Sometimes there is confusion like when we are stressed out with a sensation of needing to eat to pacify ourselves.

Hypnosis enables and amplifies a multi-sensorial experience of feeling whats it's like to be strong, fit and in control of your food intake, to be in control, of your cravings and triggers and in overcoming the mental barriers to achieving your goals, separation g food and eating from your emotional life.

When it comes to dieting and exercising to achieve weight loss, most of the people I see know what it is they Should be doing but that doesn't stop them from struggling with doing it..what's the point of losing weight if you feel like crap? With hypnosis you can feel good about yourself as well..

This hypnotherapy program is an individually tailored plan, to suit your needs, giving you the tools to change your mindset and support you in optimising and initiating your healthy eating plan.
